MORE DISCUSSION ON THE NEW BALL PARK In The City section of today's NY Times there is an article on the new home of the Mets. While the Highlanders are getting the balls broken by "so called residents" of the area of the South Bronx where their new park will be built (if these interlopers were really long time residents, they would be kissing the Bronx Robber Barons ass for doing this project ) The folks around Shea (except for those dead beats running the chop shops in Willets Point) are happy with plans for the new ballpark. The big question on everyone's mind is what to name it. If I had my way I'd name it after Gil Hodges but you know and I know that it will have a corporate name attached to it as naming rights are just too lucrative . Along with linking the story, I'm linking a pic of the stadium. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/02/nyregion/thecity/02shea.html http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2006/04/02/nyregion/nyregionspecial2/02shea_CA0.ready.html < |
