Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin',
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby,
There ain't nothin wrong with that.
Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.
WWWWWWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO. WERE BACK IN
PLAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
According to Jon Heyman of NEWSDAY, the New York Mets have agreed in principle to
a 7 year/$119 mil contract with Carlos Beltran. Just one more pelt on Omar Minayas belt.
According to Heyman, Beltran will have a physical tomorrow and sign the contract on
Tuesday, afterwards the Mets will hold a press conference.
They all laughed at Omar when he said he was out to get the best players possible. We
Mets fans looked at Omar with a does he know who hes working for? look . We read
the stories. We heard we were close. We heard he loved Houston. We heard the Bronx
Robber Baron would come in at the last minute to grab what was rightfully his. Well guess
what Jack Curry, Buster Olney, Klapper, Chris Russo and Suyzn Waldman, KISS MY
BLUE AND ORANGE ASS!!!!!!!
You know what the best part of this is? Omars not done. He knows the NL Pennant is
there to be taken. As I was discussing with Joe MacDonald of NYSportsday, now call the
White Sox and go after Damaso Marte and then call the As about Octavio Dotel to build
up the bullpen. Then wait for the phone call that should come soon from Carlos Delgado,
because now we will learn if he wants to play for a winner or just collect a paycheck.
Three teams have shown interest in him, Mets, Rangers, and Orioles. Where would you
want to go if you were Delgado? What, you dont think we can afford him and Beltran?
HA. Check out Mike at The Metropolitans who lays it all out on how Beltran and Delgado
can be added to the 25 man and still have cash left to fortify the pen.
You cant begin to know how great it is to write a positive post about the Mets. Last year
may have been one of the worst season Ive had as a Mets fan. But Omar has come in and
in a span of 2 and a half months has disinfected the organization. All the guys I thought
killed this team are all most all gone. Leiter, Franco, Stanton, Wilson, Howe, and the
awful coaching staff have been swept out. Cliff Floyd and Mike Piazza could be next but
you what? I could live with both guys staying here as there is no doubt that if both stay
healthy, they could thrive in this lineup.
Its amazing what this does to the psyche. Take a look at this article from Mike Vaccaro in
todays NY Post. Im thinking of having it lamented.
