So it seems as if the Mets are on verge of signing Karim Garcia to a 1 yr $850 K deal pending a physical. Now the next move has to be the release of Roger Cedeno. The Duke was boasting on the Mike & The Mad Dog show the other day, that the Skill Sets are flush with cash. He even made a ridiculous comment that Sr. Skill Sets has more bling-bling than Nelly D. No F'in way is that true. But I digress. After giving Cedeno his release, the have to show Timo the door as well, since Garcia is a lefty hitting outfielder, what purpose does Timo serve. The next move is to move Victor Diaz into the right handed part of a lefty/righty platoon with Garcia.
Diaz has a lethal bat, but hands of stone. He has won 2 batting titles in the minors and has been tearing up the Puerto Rican Winter Leagues. His future is most likely in the AL as a DH, but if you tell Diaz, come to spring training early to learn to play RF which will give you a legitimate chance of going north with the Mets, I'm sure he'd be there in a heartbeat.
What is there to lose? We've seen the Cedeno/Timo show and it's time to cancel this sludge. No matter who plays in RF, we Mets fans will be staring through misty eyes, as we gaze upon the right field corner of Shea Stadium this season, thinking of what could have been.
