METS LOOK TO SHANE SPENCER AND RICK REED I could live with both players coming here. Spencer hits lefties pretty well, .277/.335/.446 and in a platoon with Karim Garcia, who hits righties at a .291/.335/.476 clip, it's not bad. It seems that's the way to sum up this team so far "there not bad". Rick Reed ,if he's healthy would add another veteran arm and fill out the end of the rotation. Reed pitched well here and never wanted to leave, so he could become an asset. But what does this say about players like Aaron Heilman , Pat Strange, Grant Roberts, Jason Roche and Jeremy Griffiths who should by now jump at the chance to crack the big league rotation, but it seems management has little faith in them. < |
